BrailleConnect

BrailleConnect is the latest development in Braille display technology. It uses the smallest Braille cells available today, making the 12-cell BrailleConnect the smallest Braille display on the market with cursor routing, six navigation keys and exceptional battery life. Braille input keys allow you to take notes, write email and navigate the web. BrailleConnect is housed in an aluminum case, making it lightweight and durable.

BrailleConnect is all about connectivity. It can serve as a Braille input and output device for PDAs running Mobile Speak Pocket on Microsoft Windows CE, mobile phones running NOKIAs Symbian Operating system, or just a normal PC or notebook running Microsoft Windows. Supported screen readers include TALKS, Mobile Speak, Pocket HAL, Mobile Speak Pocket, VIRGO, JAWS, Window Eyes.

Additional Detail for BrailleConnect

The 12-cell BrailleConnect is so compact, it fits nicely into any pocket. BrailleConnect has all the keys you need to input commands or text and to navigate the screen -- no need to hold your mobile device. Imagine seven ounces of freedom and privacy (no speech synthesizer announcing your private data). That's lighter than many PDAs! BrailleConnect 12 can always be connected via wireless Bluetooth to your mobile device.

No place to plug in a power supply? If 20 hours of continuous operation or 70 hours stand-by is not enough, why not charge BrailleConnect 12 from your mobile phone's power supply (Nokia Symbian series)? Of course BrailleConnect 12 comes with its own power supply as well.

The BrailleConnect is also available in 32 and 40 cell models that has the same features as BrailleConnect 12, however it provides more Braille characters and an 8-dot Braille keyboard making it ideal for use with notebooks or desktop PCs.
