Tactile Graphics Braille Embossers

ViewPlus Braille Embossers are all Powered by Tiger®:

Powered by Tiger logo Powered by Tiger® means the Tiger Software Suite. Built around the VP Formatter -- the only Braille translator for Microsoft Office -- converting screen fonts to Braille directly in MS Office documents. Also included is the Tiger Designer, a visual tool for previewing and editing a document in dot form before embossing, even adding braille labels!

Powered by Tiger® means the only true Windows printer driver for an embosser. It is the only embossing technology that can make graphics from any program that can be printed one a ViewPlus Braille embosser. Mix Braille with tables and charts, clip art or scanned graphics and even graphics you create. Use the same software you would for any ink printer. What you see on the screen is what is created with dots on your embosser. It even works across networks like an ink printer. Includes the Tiger Toolbox, providing total accessibility to embosser settings from your PC, with or without a screen reader, locally or across a local area network.

Powered by Tiger® means patented Roller Die Technology. State-of-the-art solenoids punch into a sound-absorbing roller producing superior sharp, crisp Braille. This is the key to the world's highest resolution embossed graphics, with capability to create different dot heights for different colors and shades automatically. Built with mainstream printer hardware, Roller Die Technology includes world class paper moving technology, support for the widest variety of media types, and less than a 1% defect rate.

Tactile Graphics

Blind people are routinely provided with text materials in braille, audio or large print, but the pictures, diagrams and maps (collectively "graphics") which accompany the text materials are often omitted or only very briefly described.

With a Tactile Graphics embosser visual graphics can be very effectively converted into raised images (tactile graphics), even for the highly graphical information contained in scientific materials and maps, and can be a very valuable resource. For example, a tactile image of a city map could provide very helpful orientation information to a visually impaired person trying to learn how to get around in their new surroundings. Another example would be allowing a visually impaired math student to "see" what a sine wave looks like by feeling a tactile graphic representation of a sine wave.

Double-Sided or Single-Sided Embossers

A Double-Sided Braille Embosser has the capabilities of embossing Braille on the front and back of each sheet of paper. This reduces the amount of paper used to create a document by half, verses a Single Sided Braille Embosser. Double sided Braille reduces the number of pages and weight of the finished document for those who need to carry their work with them, such as students, and for those who ship their finished document, such as a small business.

A Single-Sided Braille Embosser is ideal for those who need or want to have the capabilities of producing a Braille document, but on a smaller scale than daily embossing like a Double Sided Braille Embosser user. If space is an issue, Single Sided Braille Embossers are compact as well as transportable.
