Sendero GPS for BrailleNote & VoiceNote

Know where you are, where you are going and the best way to get there with the Sendero GPS for the BrailleNote and VoiceNote. Also known as BrailleNote GPS, the Sendero GPS software uses a cell-phone size GPS receiver to relay information from GPS satellites. Sendero GPS calculates where you are and plots a route to a destination you choose. The Sendero GPS system for the visually impaired also provides you with the ability to easily search for and locate points of interests in your area such as restaurants, banks and grocery stores. In addition, you can use Sendero GPS to virtually explore your surroundings without having to leave the comforts of your home or hotel room.

BrailleNote GPS User Testimony

"I am a blind pedestrian trying to navigate in an unfamiliar area. I turn on my BrailleNote GPS, and the automatic POI "look around" mode announces points of interest within 300 feet. But that's only the start."

Sendero GPS Will:
  • Automatic intersection detection and announcement
  • Help you locate bus stops and other points of interest
  • Guide you to a new restaurant for lunch with a friend
  • Help you find your way back to your hotel

Now you, too, can quickly identify precisely where you are, plot the location of your planned destination, and let BrailleNote GPS determine a route to get there. Sendero's GPS software uses a tiny GPS receiver to determine your location from global positioning satellites.

Sendero GPS puts the power of location literacy within your grasp, and it works with any of the BrailleNote and VoiceNote family of products.

Travel independently and confidently with Sendero GPS

Maximize portability with the 0.9 pound BrailleNote PK and wireless Bluetooth GPS. Alternatively, choose the 32 or 18 cell BrailleNote with GPS or, for speech only, the VoiceNote GPS; both are available with a Braille or standard keyboard.

After ten years of input from blind users, Sendero's GPS software with detailed street maps, enables you to use your BrailleNote or VoiceNote to:

  • Automatically create routes for either walking or riding in a vehicle.
  • Understand the street layout before traveling to a new city by means of the "virtual explore" mode.
  • Generate detailed information about your speed, the direction you are traveling and your altitude.
  • Immediately calculate the distance and direction to a street address or intersection.
  • Determine your location relative to millions of "points of interest."
  • Create your own personal points of interest such as home, a friends house or college buildings.
  • Focus your points-of-interest search by category.

All these possibilities add up to an efficient, integrated GPS travel system for BrailleNote and VoiceNote users anywhere. Of course, you can switch at any time to the other BrailleNote applications, including its Web browser, e-mail, word processing, the MP3 player, the address book, and planner.
