ZoomText Multi-User Licensing
ZoomText Multi-User licenses are specifically designed to meet the needs of institutions such as libraries, schools, training centers, government agencies, and private corporations. There are three types of Zoomtext Multi-User licenses available:
- ZoomText Network License - For organizations that have 5 or more ZoomText users who work within a single network
- ZoomText Network License (Single-User) - For organizations that have a single individual requiring use of ZoomText on multiple systems within a network.
- ZoomText District License - For organizations that have 5 or more users that work beyond the boundaries of a single network.
ZoomText Network License
A ZoomText Network License is designed for organizations that have 5 or more ZoomText users who work within a single network. With the network license, ZoomText can be installed to all computers on the network, allowing users to sit at any available workstation. The number of concurrent users is limited to the number of licensed users.
Note: If the ZoomText users within your organization work on separate networks or standalone workstations, you should consider purchasing multiple Network Licenses or a District License.
Benefits of the ZoomText Network License
- Cost Effective. The most immediate benefit of purchasing network licensing is lower pricing. An organization can substantially decrease its per-user cost by purchasing a network license instead of purchasing multiple single-user licenses.
- Scalable. Network licenses are offered in 5-user increments, ranging from 5 users to any multiple of 5 users. Additional licenses can be added at any time.
- Faster Deployment. Once the ZoomText network server is installed, you can rapidly deploy ready-to-use installations of ZoomText as part of a machine image.
- Roaming Profiles. With support for roaming profiles, each user's personal settings are automatically available at any workstation.
- Temporary Off-Network Usage. For occasional off-network usage, workstations may be detached from the network - with a functioning copy of ZoomText - for up to 5 days or 15 executions, whichever comes first.
The ZoomText Network License Package
- Network License 5-User Starter Pack Each network license includes one 5-User Starter Pack. The Starter Pack consists of five user licenses and one software package containing a ZoomText CD-ROM, User's Guide, and Quick Reference Guide. Additional licensing can be added to the network license at any time by purchasing one or more 5-User Add-On Packs.
- Network License 5-User Add-On Pack If an organization requires a network license with more than 5 users, additional users can be added to the network license by purchasing one or more 5-User Add-On Packs. The Add-On Pack consists of five user licenses and one software package containing a ZoomText CD-ROM, User's Guide, and Quick Reference Guide.
ZoomText Network License Single-User
The ZoomText Network License (Single User) is designed for organizations that have a single individual requiring use of ZoomText on multiple systems within a network. With the single-user network license, ZoomText can be installed to all computers on the network. The user can then sit at any workstation, or move from workstation to workstation as needed.
Like the ZoomText multi-user network license, the single-user network license features fast deployment, roaming profiles, and temporary off-network usage.
The ZoomText Network License Package (Single User)
Each single-user network license consists of one user license and a software package containing a ZoomText CD-ROM, User's Guide, and Quick Reference Guide.
ZoomText District License
The ZoomText District License is designed for organizations that have 5 or more users that work beyond the boundaries of a single network. With a district license, ZoomText can be installed on any computer owned and operated by the licensing organization. Each installation must be activated, so the total number of installations is limited to the number of licensed users.
The district license is recommended for organizations having users randomly spread across multiple networks, working on standalone workstations (not attached to a network), or mobile users, such as teachers and trainers that are on the road.
Note: If the ZoomText users within the organization all work on the network, you may consider purchasing a Network License.
Benefits of the District License
- Cost Effective. The most immediate benefit of purchasing network licensing is lower pricing. An organization can substantially decrease its per-user cost by purchasing a district license instead of purchasing multiple single-user copies.
- Scalable. District licenses are offered in 5-user increments, ranging from 5 users to any multiple of 5 users. Additional licenses can be added at any time.
- Flexible Deployment. Ideal for organizations requiring random installations of ZoomText spread across multiple networks, and standalone computers (off-network).
The ZoomText District License Package
- District License 5-User Starter Pack. Each district license includes one 5-User Starter Pack. The Starter Pack consists of five user licenses and five software packages, each one containing a ZoomText CD-ROM, User's Guide, and Quick Reference Guide. Additional licensing can be added to the district license at any time by purchasing one or more 5-User Add-On Packs.
- District License 5-User Add-On Pack. If an organization requires a district license with more than 5 users, additional users can be added to the district license by purchasing one or more 5-User Add-On Packs. The 5-User Add-On Pack consists of 5 user licenses and five software packages, each one containing a ZoomText CD-ROM, User's Guide, and Quick Reference Guide. A purchaser may choose to receive fewer software packages then the license provides for.
